How do I calculate my pond size?
Pond Size/Treatment Calculator
You will need to determine the approximate length, width, and depth of your pond to start on your way to a cleaner, healthier pond. It is important to be as accurate as possible when confirming the key measurements of your pond. Since our product is 100% natural, it is not possible to over treat your pond, but it is very possible to under treat - which means the desired result will not be achieved. If you need help, please contact us and one of our technicians will be happy to assist you.
Directions for Use of the Pond Size/Treatment Calculator:
All measurements should be in feet.
Enter in your pond's length, then in the next box enter your pond's width, in the last box enter in your ponds depth. (Please note that for proper measurements the items must be entered in this order.) After you have completed this simply click on the calculate button for your approximate pond size.
How do I know which water cleaner product to use?
Our water cleaner dispensers are available for every water feature, from birdbaths to 1,000,000-gallon lakes and everything in between. Birdbath dispensers work best in 7 gallons or less. Fountain dispensers work best in fountains up to 25 gallons. Ponds up to 10,000 gallons can use either the Submersible or Lily dispensers- one dispenser for every 2,500 gallons.
For anything larger than 10,000 gallons, it is more cost effective to switch to the AquaSpherePRO dispensers which are available in three convenient sizes: 50,000 gallons, 250,000 gallons, and 500,000 gallons.
I have some refills left over from last year. Can I still use them or have they expired?
There is no "shelf-life" for our microbial products. Microbial products include Blast, Vista, Stock Tank Water Cleaner, Birdbath Water Cleaner, Fountain Water Cleaner, AquaSpherePROs, Submersible Dispensers, and Lily Dispensers).
If stored in a cool, dry location, bacteria packets should last indefinitely. How do I keep my pond crystal clear?
Using Healthy Ponds products will certainly improve the water quality and bring more clarity to your pond or water feature. However, since it is a natural product, it will encourage a natural, balanced ecosystem, which isn't always crystal clear. Remember, your pond isn't a swimming pool so don't "treat" it like one!
How long will it take before I will see results using Healthy Ponds?
Some people see positive results in as little as 2 weeks. In most cases, the process takes 4 to 6 weeks. If your pond has heavy organic matter or excessive nutrient buildup, it may take 8 weeks or longer. However, once the system becomes balanced, results are easily sustained and your maintenance program will be efficient.
Can I expect to see floating green organic matter in my pond once I begin using Healthy Ponds?
It is very common to see a green bloom in your pond after adding Healthy Ponds Pond Cleaner, as it typically takes 4 to 6 weeks for the bacteria to break down the excess nutrients and for the water to become more clean, clear and healthier.
